Welcome to the web site for the PONTARDAWE ACOUSTIC MUSIC CLUB (Clwb Acwsteg Pontardawe) or simply known as "pontyacoustic"! We are a small club of musicians and people who enjoy acoustic music and are a non-profit making Organisation.   We meet at the Pontardawe Inn (known to the locals as the Gwachel) near Swansea in South Wales on a Wednesday Evening at 8.30 p.m. We have various musicians playing a range of instruments from Guitar, Fiddle, Banjo, Harmonica, Mandolin, Accordion, Bodrhan, etc.. We play mainly celtic, bluegrass, folk music along with some blues, popular songs etc.  All acoustic styles welcome. We also hold regular Guest Evenings and open mic nights. Click on BBC image to view the article NEXT OPEN MIC NIGHT  WED 5th Nov 2008 Book your slot now!   Surprise guest....    Wednesday 24th August 2005 will be a night that will stay in the memory of club members for years to come.  During our normal sit around informal session, we were asked if someone could join us.  It was in fact 60's legend SPENCER DAVIS front man of the famous Spencer Davis Group who had several hits, the most famous being "Keep on running" and "Gimme some lovin' ". Spencer borrowed a 12 string acoustic guitar from one of the club members and ended up singing a few songs while we all jammed along with him.  Spencer who now lives in America was over visiting some friends who brought him down to the Gwachel to see the club in action.   Pictured above is Spencer Davis jamming with the Pontardawe Acoustic Music Club
